How to create Amazon A+ Content

Once you’ve completed the registration process, you can begin creating your A+ content.

Step 1:
In seller central, hover over Advertising > A+ Content Manager.

Step 2:

Click ‘Start creating A+ content’.

You will be presented, on the next page, with choosing which type of A+ Content you would like to build out. You can create a basic “Enhanced Product Description,” or a “Brand Story.”

In basic enhanced content, Amazon mentions that you may add up to 5 modules to your A+ Content (but you can still add 7).

For your Brand Story, you can use this module to tell your brand story for all your brand registered products on Amazon. You can add “Brand Story” as well as “Enhanced Product Description.” The Brand Story module will be positioned above your basic A+ Content.

Step 3: Add content name and language.

For this example, we’re going to create a Basic A+ Content description.

Step 4: Select Your Modules
You are able to select a maximum of seven modules for your A+ content. My preferred selection of modules is:

Module 1: Logo
Module 2: Image Header With Text – Large 970 x 600 pixel image talking about the brand, product etc and you can add in text below the image to talk more about brand story
Module 3: Standard Image & Dark Text Overlay – Create a 970 x 300 pixel banner graphic that has something that stands out (text box is optional)
Module 4: Standard Single Image & Specs Detail – Add one 300 x 300 pixel image and information such as important product info/specs
Module 5: Standard Single Left Image – Talk about the main feature or benefit. You can add one 300 x 300 pixel image and text
Module 6: Standard Single Left Image – Talk about the second main feature or benefit. You can add one 300 x 300 pixel image and text
Module 7: Standard Three Images & Text – This would be a great spot to talk about some of the other features/benefits of your product

I like this layout because it flows well with the images and text, it is easy to read and doesn’t look cluttered especially if you have multiple features and benefits to speak about with your product. This is just my preferred layout,

Step 5: Apply to your ASIN(s)

Once your content modules are ready, upload them to the A+ Content Manager.

Step 5: Review and submit for approval

You will need to review the content to adhere with Amazon’s guidelines, and to make any changes, if necessary, prior to submitting your A+ Content for review.

Prior to writing your content, please reference Amazon’s A+ Content Guidelines to avoid violating any of Amazon’s terms. If you end up including any prohibited information, it will take longer to get your content approved—as long as the set time (up to seven days) depending on when you submitted it to Vendor Central.

Keep in mind the image size specifications:

Logo: 600 x 180 Pixels
Banner: 970 x 300 Pixels
Comparison Chart: 150 x 300 Pixels
Four Image and text module: 220 x 220 Pixels
Four Image Quadrant: 135 x 135 Pixels
All other images: 300 x 300

Stage-6. Approval Process:

Amazon will review the A+ Content you submitted to verify compliance with their guidelines. Once your content is approved, it will be live on your product listing.

Stage-7. Monitor Performance:

Use Amazon’s analytics tools to monitor the performance of your A+ Content. Examine metrics such as click-through rates and conversion rates to measure the success of your A+ Content for customer engagement and sales.

By following these steps, you can create exceptional Amazon A+ Content that adds value to your product listings and engages potential customers effectively.

Improving Amazon A+ Content: 6 Best Practices

To make sure that you A+ content meets all the necessary requirements, please make sure you follow these best practices before submission:

Do Not Use Text Repetition: Do not repeat similar phrases over and over again in your A+ content.
Connecting Products: Leverage modules (Brand ASIN and Store Showcase or Standard Comparison charts) to create links from your listing to up to 10 other products.
Error Checking: Proofread your work to check for spelling, grammar, and consistency errors to maintain professionalism.
Use Quality Images: Use good image quality and product photography that enhances your product.
Follow Amazon Guidelines: Don’t solicit reviews for rewards, or share personal information as this violates Amazon’s policy.
Promote within Amazon: Focus on selling your products within Amazon’s rules, as that is where most shoppers prefer to shop.

Is Amazon A+ Content Indexed?

Absolutely, Amazon A+ Content is indeed indexed by Amazon’s search engine. When you upload A+ Content to your current product listings, the data that you enter through these contributing modules becomes part of the product detail page. This indicates that the content you provide, such as images, text, and various forms of multimedia contribute to the potential visibility and searchability of a product on the Amazon platform.

When leveraged correctly, A+ Content has the potential to impact your product search ranking and visibility to those customers browsing Amazon.

Does Amazon A+ content have an impact on your SEO?

A+ Content is mainly designed to improve customer experience, but some evidence suggests it can have an indirect effect on SEO. When sellers utilize A+ Content, they may see an increase in conversions. The logic is simple; more conversions mean more sales, and increased sales means better rankings. In general, the Amazon search engine rewards listing conversions with higher ranking by Amazon.

Is it possible to include a video in A+ content?

The premium A+ content can be configured to include a video. However, it’s important to note that not every marketplace facilitates the use of videos. Selling in the USA, you can easily implement a video in the premium A+ content.

Video usage can have different specifications and availability from Amazon. Sellers or vendors should consult Amazon’s current and relevant policies and guidelines to determine whether or not Amazon provides the video option and what conditions may apply to A+ Content video placement.

Is it possible to modify A+ content after it is live?

Yes, you can edit A+ content on Amazon after it has been published. Amazon Seller Central allows both sellers and vendors to make changes or updates to their A+ content after the content goes live on the product detail page.

Within your Seller Central account, you can reach the A+ Content Manager, find the specific A+ Content module you would like to edit, and apply the changes you would like to make. Once you have completed your edits, you can resubmit the new content for a second review and then it will appear in place of the original A+ content on your product detail page.

However, it does require another review, and it could take up as long as seven business days after submission for the updated A+ content to be made live on the product detail page.

Benefits of using A+ Content on Amazon?

Enhanced product storytelling: A+ Content allows sellers to share their product’s story using enhanced product descriptions that are colorful and informative.
Improved Conversion Rates: With detailed descriptions and engaging visuals, A+ Content can lead to higher conversion rates. Customers tend to trust and buy products that are presented more comprehensively. According to statistics, A+ Content can increase sales by 3 to 10%.
Brand development: A+ Content allows new owners of brands to develop their identity and create brand recognition and loyalty among customers.
Decrease Product Returns: A+ content can help consumers make more confident and informed purchasing decisions thereby reducing your returns.
Less distractions: A+ Content guarantees taking up a significant amount of home pages image space located above the fold that specifically talks about the sellers brand and not the visual noise created by multiple brand focused ads.

Is A+ Content on Amazon Free?

A+ Content is free, however, although the benefits of A+ Content are major, sellers always have a cost associated with A+ Content creation that generally is on a per ASIN basis. However, the expense is often justified with increased sales and better brand visibility. The cost can start anywhere from $700 USD and go as high as $6000 depending on the customizations involved and type of photography used.

Differentiations Between Amazon A+ and Amazon Premium A+ Content:

The key distinctions between Amazon A+ and Amazon Premium A+ Content are:

Features, Complexity: Amazon Premium A+ offers more advanced design options and additional modules compared to traditional A+ Content. It introduces components such as embedded videos, interactive elements, and additional layout options.

A+ Content Eligibility: Regular A+ Content is available to brand owners, vendors, and sellers included in the Brand Registry Program. In the past, Amazon Premium A+ often required a fee, and it was also reserved for larger vendors that produced significant revenue and had larger marketing budgets. However, Amazon opened up the use of A+ Content to brand-registered sellers at no cost, as of August 2022, therefore eliminating the differentiation between regular and premium content for eligible sellers.

Cost: Historically, while the use of Amazon Premium A+ Content had a substantial charge, standard A+ Content could be used for free by eligible users. However, based on recent developments, it is possible that the difference in cost is no longer applicable, and both may be free for eligible brand registered sellers.

Content Modules: Amazon Premium A+ Content offers a larger selection of content modules, including additional interactive features, video, and more layout options. Standard A+ Content provides a limited number of modules designed to help present product information in a more detailed and engaging format.
